How important are reviews?
This is a debate that is raging throughout our industry and also our world. The reality is that we cannot escape the need to have positive reviews written about us. Why? Well, because unfortunately nobody ever has to ask to have a negative review written. That just happens. In some cases these negative reviews may not even be true or accurate, yet they can definitely hurt a business or a medical practice.
Even we are not immune to this issue. Recently, there was a negative review written about Crystal Clear from someone who has NEVER even been our customer. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to pay a lawyer to fight back the falsehood. We are happy to report that we won, and the false and slanderous statements have been found to be exactly what they were…false. However, this was a good thing. It really forced us to eat our own cooking and start to ask our customers for reviews.

The reality of the world we live in is that people have a tendency to gravitate towards the negative instead of the positive. It literally can take 10 positive reviews to beat back one negative one. Knowing this should force all of us to have a very proactive process in getting our satisfied patients and customers to leave positive reviews on- and off-site.
I love Dr. Thomas Jeneby’s approach in San Antonio, Texas. You can visit his site by clicking here.
Notice that he features his reviews on his main images. Also, as you are browsing throughout the site, on the right hand column you will see the testimonials fade in and out. This is a great way to get his potential patients’ attention and draw them to the positive. Remember, human nature is drawn to the negative, so we must constantly be pointing out the positive.
By the way, we are not the only businesses that have this issue. Every business, from Apple to Dominos Pizza and everything in between, has both positive and negative things said about them. That is why it’s up to us to cut through the noise and let the positive truth shine through – that you and we love our patients and customers and strive for only the highest level of service. So let’s get our patients and customers shouting from the rooftop on why they love us!
