So we have finished 1/3 of the year already, and we will soon be turning the corner for the back half of the year. Now is a great time to reflect on how well our businesses are doing based on our projections going into 2015.
Summer is right around the corner, and people have a tendency to enjoy a little extra (much deserved) time off. However, it can lull people into a false sense of wellness too. I can’t tell you how many practices in September will “wake up” and realize that the goals and plans that they wanted to accomplish in 2015 have just slipped away. Before you know it, the year will be ending. I was thinking about this the other day and it hit me that:
“One of the biggest enemies of progress is INDECISION!”
What do I mean?
Well, we are getting return phone calls from many practices who looked at the Crystal Clear System last fall or even last year. They say, “We are ready to go now!” Now that’s great, however, the change can only happen today and going forward. Imagine if the indecision of last year was actually, I am ready last year. They would already have a full year’s worth of progress and growth in place and would be so much further ahead.
I actually believe that “indecision” is the kiss of death for any leader or business. You are better off just saying “NO” and finding a different solution than to lull ourselves to sleep with “let me think about, thinking about thinking about it. ” There is nothing I appreciate more than someone who knows where they are going and makes decisions to get there the most effective and efficient way possible.
Now it is important to evaluate all options, and you definitely need to look at different choices. However, you need to eventually pull the trigger and move forward one way or the other. Most small businesses run on a “what’s on fire” basis rather than having a clearly defined plan and most importantly the People, Processes and Tools to make it happen.
